The Tempest ultra lightweight paddle is best suited to whitewater touring and larger rivers. It performs predictably in all conditions and doesn't demand special skills from the user. It has a reasonable blade size which should appeal to aggressive intermediate paddlers for longer whitewater trips.
The paddle is a classic asymmetric shape with a flat end and slightly dihedral centre section to aid stability in the powerband. The tips are thickened to give more wear resistance at the ends and stepped to avoid stress risers at the rear of the blade. All paddle blades have a titanium reinforcement tube running down to the tip.
The paddle is made with a choice of materials, either glass for economy and abuse resistance, or carbon fibre for lightweight and strength. The paddle shaft can be Lendal semi carbon or a glassfibre pole shaft.
